Preparing the hair for braids to last as long as possible!

Braids are an optional addition to our holiday programs. For braids to last their optimum time, the guests hair is best being washed the night before the braiding.

How are COLOURED braids and normal braids best maintained?

We all want our braids and coloured braids to last as long as they can. The length of time they last depends on the child’s hair type, thickness, cleanliness, activities they do and how they sleep.

Lasting time varies from a few days to a few weeks.

Proper care for the braids is as follows.

Try and sleep on a soft pillow case, like satin or silk or sleep with a scarf wrapped around hair.

Swimming is not advised.

Spray with hairspray to tame fly-aways.

Some guests will have the bottoms wrapped in a string, this is because their hair is very thick at the bottom and unable to be secured into the extension hair. The string is to keep those bits in as long as possible.

Sometimes guests will have wax added to their braids to keep some bit in. If shampoo does not remove this, use bi carb and water to break it down.

Can I please get text updates on my child throughout the programs?

Yes! That is not a problem, please notify Emily when dropping your guest off. Then send a text message to 0405393445 each time you would like an update. Unfortunately, we can not answer phone calls during the workshops, TEXT is best!
